I really do feel like a noob now, with only 2 questions asked on here and both by me! lol.

Anyway. I need to get three files onto my Skybox F5.

Namely:

CCcam.channelinfo
CCcam.prio
CCcam.providers

I have been trying without any success to connect with two of my ftp programs. Namely Filezilla and Coffeecup. But I just cannot connect.

I HAVE however managed to connect perfectly fine with X3 Lan Tool. And with that I think I have managed to 'update' (or copy and paste over) the CCcam.prio file.

How come I can't connect with the standard ftp programs?
And how else can I get these files over to my box?

Any help would be very gratefully appreciated.

Thanks.

as far as im aware and i maybe wrong, the skybox is same as the openbox

you cant ftp, as in a full ftp to every file on the box.

you have to do the dumps and uploads via usb

Yeah, does seem that way. No problem. All seems to work pretty well anyway. Apart from needing a faster broadband connection, which I will struggle to get round these parts. lol.

Thanks anyway.

Ya you can't ftp Skybox/Openbox mate sorry.

Closed linux boxes can't be accessed by FTP.

So entering clines/nlines is via the remote or usb.

Regarding what speed off the Internet I got one running in my work appartment one a 3g dongle, download speed is 0.5 mb and it works fine!

We've got BT Broadband and when I go onto SpeedTest dot whatever it comes up with something like 6-7mb download and about 0.7-0.8 upload.

I am thinking that it's probably the host myself. Unless the upload speed is not good enough?

Thats more than enough download speed.

As you are a client it doesn't use upload speed as such.

I would say change your server mate.
